about the MUSICALITY
When do sound and rhythm enter our perception? Even before birth—with the rhythm of a mother's heartbeat, the ocean of life around us, where every external event reaches us in waves; our first breath, and our first resounding declaration to the world: I am here! In interaction—whether through daily life, communities, rituals, art, or the sciences that later emerged from it—can we find a time or culture where a social phenomenon wasn’t encoded in sound and rhythm? Individually, does anything truly happen to us in complete silence? If not through voice, then through breath changes, the sound of objects we touch, footsteps...
Sound portraits of people, sonic landscapes of places—a wave-like tapestry of the world vibrating at all frequencies, perceived even by those who, in the conventional sense, cannot hear.
Sound and voice are permissions to take up space and express oneself in this world; they are a renewable resource and a tool for connecting with oneself and with others.
Today, music, song, and dance have nearly lost their primal nature. They’ve become forms people try to fit themselves into, or aspire to. Of course, there’s a place for skill in music, but first and foremost, there’s room for freedom and sensitivity in creative expression! Throughout time, music has helped people maintain a harmonious state.
Engaging in practices like musicality—not in an academic sense, but from the perspective of personal sound, freedom, and self-expression—is a multidimensional way of reaching oneself, recognizing oneself, and discovering one’s authentic voice.
