TOTEATR is a Ukrainian body-oriented theater, founded in Kyiv in the spring of 2019 by director Olenka Vakhramieieva and Olena Kostrova with the support of Misha Kostrov Studio of Acting.The philosophy of TOTEATR is simplicity, depth, and honesty in creation in the moment.The subject of TOTEATR's studies is the nature of a human being at the meeting point of the material and the spiritual, as well as the contact between the physical and spiritual realms.The distinctive feature of TOTEATR's performances is the non-linearity of plots and the metaphorical forms of expression, which provide ample space for imagination, encouraging the viewer to perceive personally and take an active creative position during the performance.TOTEATR's unique find is the theatrical improvisational game TUTiZAR. This format or experimental art allows the director, actors, and musicians to explore the nature of contact, impulse, and the balance between the conscious and subconscious, using various forms of interaction with space, sound, and both living and non-living elements of the game.TOTEATR's educational project is the original acting course Body-Sound-Emotions-Me. The course is based on the Rudolf Laban movement analysis system and is designed to study and expand the actor's physical and emotional range.
